Our founder
Courtney M. Johnson
Courtney is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Turning Tide Strategies. With over two decades of senior-level executive leadership—primarily within the non-profit sector—Courtney specializes in helping organizations navigate complex transformations.
Throughout her career, including 17 years in leadership at the Philadelphia Zoo culminating as Chief Administrative + Chief People Officer, Courtney has built a reputation as a trusted advisor to CEOs, executive teams, and Boards of Trustees. She combines deep strategic vision with high-impact organizational development expertise to align people, processes, and values with long-term mission goals.
Courtney is passionate about unleashing organizational potential and driving operational excellence. She holds a B.S. in International Relations from the University of Delaware, SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications, and an executive certificate in Nonprofit Performance Measurement from Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education.
